"Serious poker players" read strategy books

Most people who take their poker seriously will buy strategy guides so they can see what makes the professionals so good, an expert has suggested.
Cardoza Publishing's Michael Stern implied that they tend to sell better than the poker biographies do, which is why "a million publishers" are now involved in the market.
"If you are a serious poker player you do want to know how the professionals play," he remarked.
Doyle Brunson's Super System: A Course in Power Poker and Daniel Negreanu's Power Hold'em Strategy - both of which feature playing advice and analysis - are two of Cardoza's biggest sellers, according to Mr Stern.
However, this does not mean that biographies do not sell well.
Brunson and authors like Ken Warren tend to write in such an "entertaining" way, that those who follow card playing are likely to pick up their books, Mr Stern said.
Warren's latest release will be Ken Warren Teaches Texas Hold'em, Volume 2, which is set to come out in November.
